Sulwyn, Berdine, and Teryl Pyralis

BOOK 1: THE BEGINNING

My name is Sulwyn --Berdine-- Teryl! and I am ten years old. My family is from the Fire Nation, which means I am a firebender by blood. I currently reside in the United Republic of Nations. I live with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. I used to go to public school, but my doctors and my mom and dad had to start homeschooling me when I got sick. Well, they think I'm sick. But I'm just fine.

People who know me say that I can be a little unpredictable, but I make up for that because I am understanding. When faced with a problem I handle it the best I can and move on. If I see someone in distress I immediately see if I can do anything to help and-- hope Teryl doesn't come out and-- Oh, please. I'd just do whatever is best for me. Love is a very icky subject for me because I am not interested in a relationship like that. I dream to some day make a difference in the world-- be whole again-- be free of these party poopers and fulfill it by doing what the doctors tell me to.

BOOK 2: THE HISTORY

My character is played by Ichigo Morino from Onegai Teacher. This character uses firebending to punish enemies.

Here is my story so far . . . .

I can’t remember much before I was six, but my family says I used to be just me and—I didn’t get to have nearly as much fun as I do now. Glad that’s over. The doctors say I have a condition called dissociative identity disorder. That means there’s not just one of me like there is in most people. I actually have two other people inside me too. It can be confusing for those who don’t know me very well. They just don’t understand or know how to deal with Berdine and Teryl. Especially Teryl. But people as a whole are stupid and boring. The doctors said my personality split into the three parts of the psychic app. Teryl is the id, Berdine is the superhego, and I’m the hego that tries to keep the peace between them. I don’t think I do a very good job but I get a sticker every time I go to the office, so I must be doing something right.

Pretty much the coolest thing in my life is my sister Leyna. She’s the Avatar! And she’s the nicest person I know. When she’s not too busy and I’ve been good, she teaches me firebending. It’s really hard, but I try my best and I do have a lot of fun. Honestly, it’s the most exciting thing that goes on around here. My brother Akio is pretty okay. But he doesn’t get along very well with Teryl—Because he’s a total poser. He says he’s all about doing what he wants, but he never does! He wasn’t even this bad until he started hanging out with the baldies on the Island. So he has to leave whenever she’s around or things can get really bad. Berdine seems to like him well enough—It was very honorable of him to start focusing on the truly important things in life.

My mom’s the one who takes care of me most of the time, though. She’s really pretty and almost as nice as Leyna. Sometimes we’ll spend the whole afternoon playing dress-up. Usually daddy’s there too and he gives me piggy back rides around the house. I like that a lot. It’s even better when we don’t have to stop playing early because Teryl does something bad. Is it my fault that mommy’s lipstick is a great crayon? No, but it is your fault that you used it as one after she said not to. Oh, give me a break. My picture looked good and she knew it. She was just being difficult. . . .

Someday I hope to be alone in my head again. I think that would be nice. Or even if I could just control whether Berdine and Teryl come out, I think I would be much happier. But as long as I have my family to help me, I guess it’s okay.
